UTRGV – The Leadership and Mentoring Department of Student Involvement organized a block party to help students get informed and involved.
The event took place last week on the Brownsville and Edinburg campus. Food, games, and music were provided to UTRGV students in attendance.
“It took us about three to four weeks to set everything up but we did it as a team, my colleagues and I, and so that’s what really made our event successful…We have tons of food and tons of student organizations here, and really this event is just to promote our student organizations and getting involved,” said Kristen Garza, fraternity and sorority adviser.
Garza says she believes that when students get involved in organizations it drastically makes their college experience better. If you would like to join a leadership organization or want to find out about upcoming events, you can contact the Involvement Office at (956) 882-5111 or (956) 665-2660.
