Police Reports: 4-16-19

utrgvtv April 16, 2019

Here are this week’s police reports released to us this past week by UTRGV PD:

On April 8th, UTRGV PD was notified of a suspicious male subject who appeared to be following 3 to 4 female students at the Math and Science Academy in Brownsville  in the area of the Main building. Officers were able to identify a male subject fitting the description provided. He was identified as a UTRGV student and became verbally abusive with the officers. This incident will be referred to Student Rights Responsibilities for further review.

On April 10th, an officer responded to HPEII on the Edinburg campus in reference to a male subject looking at male students showering in the locker room. The initial incident occurred on 04/08/2019.  The student reported that the male suspect was currently at HPEII. The officer made contact with the male suspect identified as a student. After an interview of the student suspect by detectives, he was issued a citation for Voyeurism, a Class C Misdemeanor, and released.  This incident will be referred to Student Rights Responsibilities for further review.

That same day, an officer met with a male student at HPEII who reported a similar incident with the suspicious male referenced in the previous case.  The male student reported that the same student suspect was looking at him when he showered on a previous date. A citation for Voyeurism, a Class C Misdemeanor,  to the student suspect is pending. This incident will be referred to Student Rights Responsibilities for further review.
