EDINBURG- The Rio Grande Valley Partnership hosted the first ever economic summit for the Valley on Aug. 17 at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg. Valley leaders across the region came together to promote economic growth, development and partnership amongst all cities of the RGV. Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr., opened the event.

“This port is incredibly important as an international transfer point. It already provides well over 50,000 jobs and $3 billion in economic activity,” Abbott said. “You truly are the epicenter of the booming Texas economy. The Texas of tomorrow is going to be built in the Rio Grande Valley.”
