EDINBURG – That’s right at UTRGV there’s a new business right on Schunior street, selling sandwiches, iced teas and cinnamon buns, and there’s no catch: you decide on what you want to pay.
“We have been here at this location for almost a week now, but BSM Global Blends has been going on for many years since 2012,” said Vivian Lopez, manager at BSM Global Blends.
The business is operated by the BSM, a Christian organization. Lopez says they want to give a message of love and encouragement in the community with the restaurant.
“We want to be here for UTRGV to encourage and help build up the UTRGV community, we know there is a food crisis whether we like to address it or not and this is just one way we get to show students, faculty and staff that we are here for them. We are so excited that we had the opportunity to open something. I think it’s really going to bring the UTRGV community together. Kind of just letting everyone know what we are about,” she continued.
Students are also saying how much they love it as well.
“I think it has a great energy. There’s really nice people. The food is really good. I’ve gotten a little taste of everything,” says UTRGV student Gabriela Izaguirre.
