EDINBURG – Not all food is “good” food. What goes into our digestive system affects not only our mood but our bone density and longevity.
The UTRGV Food Pantry is a free service that helps students access nutritious meals.
Lisa Salinas, Health and Biomedical Science clinical associate professor, said a well-rounded meal can help avoid diseases caused by malnutrition, such as anemia, diabetes and kidney disease.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, not eating enough fat, fiber or protein can lead to low blood sugar.
Signs of low blood sugar include a fast heartbeat, shaking, sweating, dizziness, hunger and more.
Salinas shares how we can prevent these illnesses.
