Edinburg- The annual Roundup kicked off once more: the second part of orientation for incoming freshman, where students are introduced to some of their colleges, faculty members, and fellow classmates.
“Based on the meeting I was at yesterday this is supposed to be the largest incoming freshman at UTRGV, I believe it’s over thirty-seven hundred students, that we are getting ready to welcome next Wednesday and Friday,” said Director of Student Activities Cindy Mata-Vasquez.
The UTRGV Edinburg campus headed to the field house on Friday to end their orientation with a spirit rally.
“We try to promote spirit, try to promote opportunities to get engaged and start creating their campus experience with us. We think that the Roundup, at least the spirit rally component, is a good way to kick that off for them,” said Mata.
Student Involvement also introduced themselves to Class of 2023, and the Director of Student Activities advises freshmen to get involved at UTRGV in order to have the best college experience.
“What we really want to do is invite many student leaders to come out and help us drive that message of being involved is the key to making your college experience the best it can be, we want to make sure.”
