SGA Holds Student Body Address

Yuliana Quiroz September 24, 2019

UTRGV – The State of the Student Body Address was held last week on both campuses. Student representatives from SGA presented their campus initiatives including expanding the FYI program, moving towards a zero-waste campus, the differences of evening parking permits, and several other events they have planned. Student attendance was low, but SGA President Ingrid de la Torre says that there are other ways students can reach them.

“This is a great chance not only for students to get engaged and involved, but also ask important questions, right. So obviously we see questions on the UTRGV Students page, so I know students have questions. Events like this are a great opportunity to somewhat get answers, but at the same time students can stop by our office or send us an email or contact me directly,” she said.

If you have any questions, concerns or are interested in joining SGA, you can email her at sgapresident@utrgv.edu or call Leadership and Mentoring. Their meetings open to all students will be held every other Thursday.
