McAllen- In an inclusive community event, the International Museum of Art and Science hosts its third annual Meet The Blind Day.
Macarena Peña, president of he local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, lost her vision just two decades ago due to diabetes
It has not stopped her, however, from doing the things she loves.
“I work full-time. I travel a lot. I help in my church. I’m married. I have kids. I do everything,” said Peña.
The event offered interactive games as well as blind painting and crafting workshops led by IMAS educators
The RGV chapter of the National Federation has existed since 2010 and has grown to have more than 45 members. Anyone interested is welcome to join.
