Desiree Villanueva EDINBURG- The Vaqueros’ dominated its home opener with a triumphant 110-60 victory over the Champion Christian College Tigers.
From start to finish, the Vaqueros controlled the game, outplaying the Tigers in both halves.
The celebrations continued as head coach Kahil Fennell earned his first career win at UTRGV.
“It means a lot, I guess,” Fennell said. “Big picture with one of those things I look back on and reflect on and have a lot more appreciation for it just in the moment I’m just thinking about how we can get better, and how I can better serve our players and get more out of them and put them in positions to be successful our next games.” The UTRGV Vaqueros competed against the Wisconsion Badgers results are on goutrgv.edu
UTRGV Men’s Basketball will partner with the RGV Vipers for its 956 Hoops Showcase.
The showcase is set for 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 at Bert Ogden Arena, and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
