UTRGV – International Student Athlete Elyad Shojaei was worried he would not be returning back to campus because of the Trump administration’s recent attempt to take Visas from International Students.
Although the policy has been dropped, student Alberto Mello expresses his concerns and fears that the Trump administration would have taken away his athletic career at UTRGV.
“Well it was really, really tough in my country and I have a lot of my friends didn’t have a chance to come back. I was in the United States and I stayed in the United States, I just traveled to San Antonio. The message I got from the government was that the people living in the United States had to leave the country. For a few days, I was living in fear you know that I wasn’t sure I was searching flights to go back home.”
