Students Voice Their Concerns On Parking at First SGA Meeting

Yuliana Quiroz September 11, 2018

Edinburg- Parking is one of the most serious concerns for students at UTRGV.

Which is why the Student Government Association held a meeting for students to voice their concerns with Parking and Transportation officials.

“We are people who work two or three jobs a day…”

This student spoke up on behalf of those who have a rough schedule and can’t make it early to campus and find a parking space.

“We are students and we are limited on time and we are limited on resources, you cannot come unto us and ask us to lend some of those resources we have,” said Josue Puente, a Mexican-American grad student at UTRGV.

He said because some students struggle to make ends meet, it becomes harder for them to purchase a parking permit.

UTRGV’s Director of Transportation says he anticipated this type of response from students.
