Gabriela Sandoval EDINBURG – The McAllen Heritage Center, in collaboration with the city of McAllen, have begun construction on the new annex building.
This expansion is expected to allow more history to be exhibited to the public and provide additional storage and workspace.
The expansion is on the northeast corner of the heritage center’s campus in downtown McAllen at Main and Chicago.
This project was in development for six years…and just broke ground about two weeks ago.
According to the McAllen Heritage Center Facebook, the museum is hoping to announce the opening of the new annex by mid 2027.
