Harlingen- Governor Greg Abbott visited Harlingen right before election day to urge voters to not only get out and vote, but to do more when it comes to heading to the polls.
Abbott was accompanied by Judge Jaime Tijerina, a veteran running for the 13th Court of Appeals, and Judge Ernie Aliseda, who’s running to be Chief Justice on the 13th Court of Appeals.
I spoke to Judge Jaime Tijerina about researching the candidates to make a choice before heading to the polls.
When asked why it’s vital for college students to vote, Judge Ernie Aliseda said it’s an important civic duty.
Governor Abbott said that he’ll continue to work toward turning out every voter in Cameron and Hidalgo county.
The Texas governor said that other than voting, more can be done. Bringing friends and family members to the polls today is another way to get involved and help others practice their right to vote.
