UTRGV- For this week’s police reports…

On October 26th an officer was dispatched to the Math and General Classroom Building in reference to an injured person report.  On arrival the officer made contact with the reporting party who stated that her female co-worker was transported to the hospital due to her co-worker falling and causing damage to her teeth.  The original incident occurred at the Academic Services Building. Contact was later made with the female via phone that fell and she stated she tripped on a crack on the floor while exiting the west side sliding door of ASB.  The fall caused her to break two bottom teeth.

Last week we informed you about a UTRGV female student being harassed by a non-affiliated boyfriend while off campus. UTRGV PD CID following up on investigative leads came upon the non-affiliated male suspect in McAllen where he was apprehended without incident.  They informed Edinburg PD and arrived on scene and took custody of the suspect and vehicle. UTRGV PD issued the suspect a criminal trespass warning in regards to this incident.

On October 30th it was reported that two (2) suspicious packages were scheduled to be delivered to the Edinburg campus and to the Brownsville campus.  The packages were intercepted and isolated prior to reaching their destinations. After working with local law enforcement specialty units, it was determined the packages posed no threat to the campus community.  Case is still under investigation.
