EDINBURG – Have you ever had trouble purchasing food for yourself? Well don’t worry because UTRGV has a solution for the students.
At UTRGV, we have our own food pantry located right inside the University Center.
What does a food pantry do on a college campus, you may ask? Let’s find out.
Cristina Vega, the Student Food Pantry program coordinator gives us more information.
“The Student Food Pantry’s mission is to help students in need by providing supplements who have been affected by financial problems or having difficulty meeting their basic need of adequate nutrition,” said Vega.
Anyone can donate food to them, just look for the yellow bins. Vega says in order for students to get involved they are required to fill out two forms one in person and online.
And for more information you can always stop by or go to their website at utrgv.edu/foodpantry.
