EDINBURG- Governor Greg Abbott made an appearance at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance on September 8th to designate the Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance as a Level 1 Trauma Center and to sign Senate Bill 827, a bill expected to lower the price of insulin. He said that over the past fifteen years the price of insulin has increased three times more, becoming unaffordable.
“The Rio Grande Valley continues to grow in population and size,” shared Gov. Abbott. “As you grow in population and size, also your health care needs.”
Trauma Medical Director, Jeffrey Skubic, DO shared patients can receive immediate care no matter the severity of the injuries at any hour of the day. He further adds that patients will no longer need to be transferred to San Antonio to receive care.
