Dathan Treviño Dathan Treviño is the News Director for KVAQ-TV. He is a Theatre major with a concentration in Film Production. He loves watching movies and making them. He plans to pursue a career in filmmaking and move to Austin after college in hopes of joining the growing film scene.
Perla Cortez is the Assistant News Director at the Edinburg campus. She is majoring in Broadcasting with a minor in Theater Arts as a Senior. Her hobbies include playing video games, creating content on YouTube and TikTok, exploring new places and going to the movies. Her main ambition is to travel, act in films, or do voiceover performances and become a TV producer.
Juan Carlos Marquez JR is the TV Web Producer for the Edinburg Campus. He is majoring in Visual Communications Design as a Sophomore. His hobbies include painting, collecting vinyl records, gaming, reading, watching series, creating digital art, and studying various history forms. His goals include becoming a freelance multimedia artist, creating a webcomic, or working in the entertainment industry.
Alexandra Salazar is the TV/Video Editor for the Edinburg Campus. She is majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Film Production as a Sophomore. Her hobbies include reading, taking photos, listening to music, and playing games. Her goal is to pursue a career in the filmmaking industry behind the scenes as she enjoys helping people make their films become reality.
Desiree Villanueva is the Multimedia Journalist for the Edinburg Campus. She is majoring in Mass Communication in Broadcast Journalism as a Junior. Her hobbies include dancing, fishing, listening to music, and hunting. She aims to pursue a career in the TV industry as a sports or entertainment anchor and hopes to further her education in Meteorology.
Victor Ortega is the Multimedia Journalist for the Brownsville campus. His hobbies are playing video games and going to the movies in Mexico since “it’s way cheaper.” He would love to work as a film or TV producer in the future.
Jasmin Espinosa is the Multimedia Journalist for the Brownsville campus. Her double major is in Anthropology and Mass Communications as a Senior. Her hobbies are singing, walking, baking, and dancing. Her goals are are to be a TV Reporter, a Forensic Pathologist, or a Chef.
Ian Juarez is a Multimedia Journalist, Freshman Theatre Major with a concentration in Film Production and a minor in Education. He hopes to be a professor/teacher to inspire others to create and tell stories. Some of his hobbies include competitive Beyblade, content creation, video game.
Alec Rodriguez is a Multimedia Journalist, Freshman Theatre Major with a concentration in Flim Production. He hopes to be a film maker in the future. Some of his hobbies include doing archery, reading, and playing video games.
