EDINBURG – UTRGV celebrated its 6th anniversary on Wednesday with UTRGV Day.
The event welcomed back students, faculty, and staff as part of the Best Week Ever. Due to the pandemic, this year’s celebration was a grab-and-go event.
Patrick Gonzales, Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications said that UTRGV has progressed since the merging of the University of Texas-Pan American and the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2015.
“It’s never easy to bring two universities that were run separately,” explained Gonzales. “To bring them together to form one. We were doing something that had never been done before. The best thing is that we are in the best position that we’ve ever been over the past six years.”
