On October 21st, an officer responded to the Vaquero Plaza in reference to a non-affiliated homeless male sleeping at the entrance to the building. The non-affiliated male subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted off UTRGV property.
On October 22 at 6 a.m., US Border Patrol Communications informed UTRGV Police Communications of several subjects seen walking on the River Levee area. USBP agents were able to detain four individuals from a group of eight in the brush area behind the Biomedical Building. All four individuals reported they were from Mexico. USBP agents searched the area for the other four individuals but to no avail.
On October 23 at 2:37 p.m., an officer while patrolling parking lot E32 smelled an odor of burnt marijuana in the area. The officer contacted two male students standing next to a vehicle at location. Upon making contact the officer observed a burnt marijuana cigarette on the floor next to the males. Both males admitted to smoking marijuana and exhibited signs of intoxication. The officer obtained a consent to search for the vehicle which yielded a cartridge containing THC and other drug paraphernalia.
