UTRGV – UTRGV’s Chess Team is qualified for the President’s Cup, also known as The Final Four of College Chess.
The team will be competing online on April 3, against Webster State University, Texas Tech University, and Saint Louis University.
UTRGV Chess Head Coach, Bartek Macieja says that the chess team is showing a lot of promise for this year’s chess competition.
“We won in 2018 and 2019 the national championships for the final four tournament. In 2016 we finished second,” says Macieja.
