UTRGV- UTRGV’s Men’s Basketball Head Coach Lew Hill has passed away at 55 years old.
Coach Hill was the head coach for the UTRGV Men’s Basketball team since 2016.
UTRGV Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications, Jonah Goldberg says that Coach Hill was a deeply caring individual who cared about everybody.
“We were pretty close. We had regular conversations, a lot of it was about work of course. But I always felt like I could go to talk to him,” says Goldberg.
“When he said how are you doing, he wanted an actual answer. He wanted to know how you were doing. After my father died, he asked me that a number of times and we had long conversations.”
