EDINBURG- The UTRGV Men’s Baseball team came back from a 5-1 deficit to defeat the Houston Baptist Huskies 8 to 7 last Tuesday, improving its winning streak to three games.
After a game-tying hit from Center Fielder Brett Cain made it a 7 to 7 game in the eighth inning, Sophomore Pitch Runner Spencer Serven scored the winning run in the ninth. Sophomore Right-Hand Pitcher Zach Tjelmeland recorded a strikeout to end the top of the ninth, leaving a Huskies runner stranded on third, which sealed the game. The men’s baseball team went on to face the Sam Houston Bearkats in a three-game WAC series on the road this past weekend.
The Men’s Baseball team competes against Lamar University at 10am this Saturday at home.
