Edinburg- After three years of planning the search is almost over. UTRGV is seeking out the one student who can fill the vest and hat of the proud Vaquero mascot.
Universities are built on school spirit and lasting traditions. And with the school’s mascot in motion, UTRGV is slowly building upon that spirit.
“A lot of people don’t understand how important creating traditions are because they’re going to be long lasting. And we have to think about where is it going to be 20 years from now,” said Cheer Coach Lora Solis.
What was once Bucky the Bronc before the merger with UTB, the spirit program knew Vaqueros would be the right choice to embody the Rio Grande Valley.
