BROWNSVILLE – The UTRGV campus bookstore once at Texas Southmost College has been relocated to the first floor of the UTRGV Brownsville library.
UTRGV Brownsville Campus Bookstore Market Leader, Joanna Garza explained the reason behind the relocation.
“Really the main focus and purpose for the relocation is to be closer to students. This is more the heart of campus compared to the location we were at previously, for Brownsville specifically,” said Garza.
The relocation over the summer brings about positive reactions from students.
“It’s easier to locate it, it’s easier for students to know where it’s at since it’s in the very front of the campus,” said Zoee Guerra, a criminology freshman.
“It’s way easier in the library, it’s closer to everything,” said Emilio Medellin-Solis, marketing sophomore. “The other one was [kind of] further, it was nice but this one’s closer, more convenient.”
According to the UTRGV Brownsville campus bookstore’s Facebook, it states the new bookstore location does not offer a cafe and adds that the university is actively working on introducing a cafe-concept on campus soon.
Physical copies of textbooks will not be available at the campus bookstore but can be purchased online at the UTRGV bookstore website.
Plans for the TSC building have yet to be announced.
