Edinburg- UT Health RGV celebrated the grand opening of its new multi-specialty clinic on August 15 with a tour and special announcements.
Dozens of doctors from the facility attended the opening to meet community members and invite them to make the facility their go-to for their medical needs related to primary care, urgent care, vision, OB-GYN and surgery.
“We’re here in this new facility that’s opening now that will allow all of our physicians to deliver accessible, on time, high quality and patient-centered care for families in Edinburg, as well as the surrounding communities,” said Dr. John Krouse.
The nearly 18,000 square foot facility contains 25 patient exam rooms and a staff of 125 board certified physicians, all dedicated to furthering the missions of the UTRGV School of Medicine, which are research, education and clinical care.
“This new facility allows us to continue in our vision to build an academic health center in the Rio Grande Valley,” said Dr. Krouse. “A place where the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists train together. The place where medical breakthroughs happen and where patients receive the world’s best healthcare.”
Dr. Saul Rivas, a clinical assistant professor at UTRGV’s School of Medicine has been with the program for three years and says this facility makes an exciting addition to the school’s clinical practice.
“So I’m excited about the fact that we have multi-specialty, so we have different specialties including OB-GYN, which is the specialty that I practice,” says Dr. Rivas. “But it also includes surgical subspecialties, urgent care and family medicine. So this is sort of a one-stop shop for anybody that has various health needs.”
