EDINBURG – “The Stomp” event has made its return to its stomping grounds at the Edinburg and Brownsville UTRGV campuses hosted by Student Activities.
With over 40 local businesses in attendance and more than 3,000 students at the Edinburg campus, this event was a night of socialization and networking.
Lauren Pezzat, videographer and marketer for Student Activities, highlighted the opportunity this event provided to students looking for employment and internship opportunities.
“We’re gonna have our business showcase, you can go up to businesses, local businesses like Cane’s or maybe a local bank that will be here,” Pezzat said. “You can network and see if you can get any job opportunities, so I think that’s important.”
Notable local businesses that attended the Business Showcase, were Crumbl Cookie, 7 Brew Coffee, Dutch Bros, Canes, Chase Bank and The Caffeine Library. Many businesses in attendance provided free goodies and merchandise for students.
Aside from networking opportunities, The Stomp also provided multiple sources of entertainment for students such as carnival rides, games, free food and drinks, a laser tag area and a gaming van.
The Stomp not only provided students and businesses with the opportunity to gain exposure, but it also housed the environment to create new social relationships.
