United States– Phone calls from random numbers and automated voices, also known as robocalls, are plaguing phone lines with threats of warranty cancellations and other messages.
“There is both commercial telemarketing robocalls and outright fraudulent robocalls, in both cases, they are illegal,” says the Federal Trade Commission’s Do Not Call Program Manager, James Evans.
Evans warns of the type of calls to look out for and provides resources to block and report robocalls.
