Police Reports: 3-23-20

utrgvtv March 24, 2020

UTRGV – A vehicle was reportedly stolen on the Brownsville campus last Monday.

Police say a 2015 Dodge Ram truck was stolen while parked in Lot B-6 at the Casa Bella Apartment complex. Police describe the person of interest as a Hispanic man, between 20 to 30 years of age, medium complexion with short dark hair weighing 140 – 160 lbs. He is approximately 5’6” in height and was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt with dark horizontal stripes over blue jeans. If you have any information, you are asked to call University Police in Brownsville at (956) 882-7777.

Back at the Edinburg campus, officials confiscated a former student’s UTRGV identification card after a current student accessed a room with that ID.

An officer made the discovery after the current student asked for assistance. That student told the officer that he left the ID card inside a classroom in the Engineering building by mistake. The student stated the former student gave him the card when he graduated a year ago. The entry was denied. The case is now being handled by Student Rights and Responsibilities.
