BROWNSVILLE – A paranormal investigator talks about his long career and the many experiences he has had.
Thomas Hotcaveg is a skeptic and lead investigator of RGV Paranormal Investigations.
Hotcaveg and his family have over 20 years of paranormal experience.
They investigate the historic places around the valley looking for the abnormal.
The RGV paranormal investigations are one of Brownsville’s original paranormal teams.
With the help of equipment like dowsing rods and electromagnetic field detectors, Hotcaveg and his team explore many places throughout the valley.
In one of his many adventures, he recalls playing Yankee Doodle Dandy on his harmonica at Fort Brown.
“My daughter could sense and see that there was a soldier standing directly behind me,” said Hotcaveg, “and he wasn’t happy with what I was playing, and I kept on … and then all a sudden, I felt a kick in the middle of my back. and I had a black shirt on, and it left a boot print on the back of my shirt,” said Hotcaveg.
With a confederate military fort, two battlegrounds, and two wars fought here. Brownsville is a city with over 174 years of history under its belt.
