MCALLEN- McAllen ISD is now offering an esports program to high school students in Mcallen who are interested in gaming.
This program expands students’ communication skills and opens job opportunities within the gaming community while allowing them to play like professional video game players.
“In class they are super quiet, they don’t really talk to anyone, but then we get them in their game behind their keyboard and on their headset and they are stepping up, they’re taking charge” said Andy Thompson, E-Sports coach at McAllen Memorial High school.
