BROWNSVILLE – A liquid natural gas pipeline is set to be constructed at the Port of Brownsville. The project has caused a major divide among the RGV community.
“We do not want UTRGV to have a partnership in that because that will be the number one single point and source of pollution for the Rio Grande Valley, ” said Suzanne El-Haj, UTRGV’s Farmer’s Market coordinator for Environmental Awareness Club.
Although protests against LNG are strong, a recent decision from Cameron County officials shows the project is still in motion. We will have a further study on the LNG in the RGV next week.
