UTRGV – Counseling Services hosted a suicide prevention training course on Wednesday September 22nd. The training offered to provide faculty and staff with the skills needed to recognize and intervene with anyone experiencing mental health issues.
“Our mission is to promote positive mental health and wellness for our campus community, particularly for our students,” said Christopher Albert, Director of the UTRGV Counseling Center.
Albert said this has been a difficult time because of the pandemic. Some students have dealt with the loss of loved ones, while others suffered anxiety about contracting the virus.
Counseling Services offers free and confidential services, and can be reached at counseling@utrgv.edu.
