MISSION – The Texas Citrus Fiesta is holding its 73rd annual Princess Anna pageant on October 22nd at the Mission Event Center For any girls Interested in joining who are 6 years old on or before January 31st, 2023.
The nonprofit organization will kick off its celebrations with the Princess Anna pageant where the girls can compete and attend a variety of events throughout the year like the vaquero cookoff, and the Queen Citriana pageant.
“It teaches them how to handle situations in the publicity, teaches them how to carry themselves in the public, also how to be more open to ideas, more open to adjusting into different events, different settings, overall, they learn how to work with others,” said Lisa Rivera, executive director for Texas Citrus Fiesta when asked about how the girls benefit from competing in the pageants.
Some of the Requirements for the pageant are, girls must wear their natural hair down, very minimal makeup, no big bows or berets are allowed, their dress must not be too short or too tight, and no high heels are allowed.
