UTRGV- On this week’s sports highlights we’ve got the men and women’s soccer team hot on the field with Sunday’s matches against California Baptist University.
Up first men’s soccer went up against CBU where CBU scored the first goal at 16 minutes in.
Later UTRGV’s forward Kyle Edwards tied up the match 1-1 with a header and again scored in the second half with a pass from Lopez which was the winning goal for Vaqueros.
And a few words from the men’s head coach on their win.
“We didn’t lose our focus, we stayed playing our game and we ended up winning both you know 2-1. Yes we had to fight harder to keep the victory on both games, but that’s what I was proud of as a team this year. They showed tremendous character and tremendous growth,” said Coach Paul Leese.
