EDINBURG- With the recent surge of positive COVID-19 cases in the valley, some testing sites are running out of testing supply kits.
“We do not have any tests that have been given to us by the state, we are having to procure our tests, our rapid tests, we are having to procure our reagents,” said Eddie Olivarez, Chief Administrative Officer for Hidalgo County Health and Human Services. “I ordered some tests but it’s going to take two months to get it.”
Doctor Linda Nelson, Senior Director of Clinical Operations for U-T Health R-G-V and the School of Medicine, shared UTRGV has plenty of tests and are well positioned.
“We’ve been continuing to collect them since we closed the other tent for fear this was going to happen again.” said Nelson.
