Stephen Gutierrez EDINBURG – UTRGV Football returns to the Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium to host Lamar University this weekend for a spooktacular showdown.
Students can expect a Halloween-themed halftime show, freebies for fans and the unveiling of a new uniform colorway; the Vaqueros are adding a touch of that holiday spirit to its homecoming game.
This will be a rare occasion for the team, as the next opportunity for a game on the holiday will be in 2037.
The match also serves as the university’s homecoming game.
Gregory Selber, UTRGV professor of communication, said he expects the night to be filled with both Vaquero pride and Halloween fun.
