Alyssa Mendoza BROWNSVILLE – Glady’s Porter Zoo opened its newest exhibit, El Mundo Huasteco y Totonaco after a year of planning and building.
KVAQ-TV last reported on the zoo’s expansion back in February when we were told the zoo staff was making the “finishing touches.”
The zoo completed phase two of the new exhibit at the end of august.
Ocelots, howler monkeys, porcupines, tamarins and more now live at these artificial-ruins and stone giants which are made to mimic their natural habitat.
Ashley Solis, a zoo associate curator of carnivores and gorillas, tells us why they relocated the animals.
