EDINBURG – The UTRGV women’s soccer team is honing their focus as they approach the final games leading up to the Southland Conference in November.
During a recent practice, KVAQ-TV caught up with the Vaqueros as they prepared for these important matchups.
Senior defender Abby Bailey discussed the team’s outlook and highlighted how their daily hard work is setting the foundation for reaching their season goals.
“As a team, nothing is granted yet, we still got three more games in season games to focus on and after that last game well prepare mentally for it,” Bailey said.
Bailey spoke on the team’s relationship to get them through the season.
“As a team this is probably the closest, we’ve ever been, like we are very close on and off the field,” Bailey said. “I think we carry that from off the field onto the field which really helps us staying connected. It’s just the little things.”
If the team advances, the Southland Conference tournament will be held in Corpus Christi on Nov. 5, Nov. 7 and Nov. 10.
UTRGV is expected to will compete against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday, Nov. 1.
