EDINBURG – Cassandra Luna, a sophomore biology major, shared her story about battling Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma while being turned down for health care coverage.
“When I did my initial CT scan, the two bumps I had on my neck were 4cm and 5 cm, about two weeks later they had grown and now they were 6cm each.” said Luna.
Luna mentioned that medical bills were piling up, yet Medicaid and social security denied her help.
She now receives help from the Cameron County Indigent Program, and she hopes to pay her medical bills by the time she is 28.
