EDINBURG- The Vaqueros Men’s Baseball team was too strong for the cardinals to overcome as they secured a 9 to 3 win last Tuesday.
After a slow start, The Vaqueros scored their first run in the third on a sacrifice fly by graduate student Bryan Sturges. The Vaqueros added three more runs in the fourth as Sturges hit a two-run shot in the fifth putting the Vaqueros up 6 to 0.
The Cardinals scored their first run in the seventh after a home run from Zach Limas. The visiting team then pushed for two more runs in the ninth inning after two out singles by Herman Yanez and Jimmy Deleon. Falling to The Vaqueros with a final score of 9 to 3.
The Men’s Baseball Team is playing in their sold-out game against Texas at 6:30pm this Tuesday at home.
