Thanksgiving Leftovers May Cause Harm To Your Health

Neidye Rodriguez November 24, 2020

Rio Grande Valley- Eating Thanksgiving Leftovers after a few days can negatively affect your health.

The longer food is a leftover, the more bacteria may grown on it according to Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Seratna Guadarrama-Beltran.

“If it’s 40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, if we leave it out there for more than two hours, there’s different bacteria that can actually thrive in those conditions in the food,” states Beltran.

Beltran also adds that event after storing food properly or recooking leftovers, it isn’t safe to eat leftovers more than four days old.
