MCALLEN- Governor Abbott announced a new directive on February 22 to report any transgender minors to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Christopher Gallegos, a local 21-year-old transgender male, shared his thoughts on the new directive.
“I think its horrific and that we shouldn’t really be focusing in transgender kids. We should focus on something bigger like a parent that is abusing their kid versus a transgender kid. Most people like me. We know we are different from a young age,” said Gallegos.
