EDINBURG – Multilingua Fest: UTRGV’s Language and Arts Department’s celebration of culture allowed students of foreign language classes to teach their lessons through games and crafts at the Edinburg library lobby and Salon Cassia in Brownsville. The fest was a week-and-a-half long event. Representatives stress it is important to learn different ways of life for an understanding and connected example of people.
“I want to learn about different cultures because I want to get out of my comfort zone. and i feel like it’s important to the community. I feel like we can connect to each other because we learn more and we know more about each other,” said Rosaura Almanza, Language and Arts Department presenter.
Some of the languages presented were Chinese, Korean, and German. Lead director and representatives hope to expand their enterprise with more languages next year.
