Brownsville- Caring for the Valley, a UTRGV organization that helps low-income and underserved communities, began the first part of its Homeless Care Package event on Feb. 24.
The group prepared packages containing hygiene products and food supplies that will be delivered to the local homeless community.
Packages are estimated to be delivered on March 3 at the Good Neighbor Settlement House in Brownsville.
Caring for the Valley is looking for volunteers to help with distribution for the event. “Our plan is to get volunteers who are interested, to come with us to Good Neighbor, and we’ll be handing out these care packages as well,” said President Alen Saju.
