Rio Grande Valley – A second Spring semester with social distancing has scene an increase in student enrollment compared to the Spring 2021 semester.
Senior Vice President For Strategic Enrollment and Student Affairs, Maggie Hinojosa says enrollment is up by 10% compared to last Spring semester and the current semester has more in person classes compared to the Fall 2020 semester.
“The prediction is over 30,000 students and as you can see, we are getting pretty close,” says Hinojosa.
“At this point we have 17.6% on a traditional format, 15.5% of classes on a hybrid format, 34.6% in an online asynchronous and 32% on an online synchronous format.”
Update: As of January 11, 2021, UTRGV surpassed its goal on the first day of the Spring semester with the enrollment of 30,147 students.
