Bobby Pulido Collaborates with the City of Edinburg to Host a Music Festival

Amada Baldovinos March 25, 2024

EDINBURG- The city of Edinburg is collaborating with famous musician “Bobby Pulido” to host a music festival.

An event that will give junior high and high school students an opportunity to showcase their musical talent and compete —right here in Edinburg —the heart of Tejano music.

Corafest, which is short for Corazon de la Musica, is a festival that celebrates the conjunto and norteño music culture in the valley.

The event will feature live performances from local school ensembles, food, arts and crafts and a night concert including artists like Reflejo Activado, Ram Herrera, Elvis Javier y Su Grupo Norteno and more.

Singer Bobby Pulido says the winner will get to perform on the mainstage alongside professionals, earn a prize and get three of their songs produced by himself.

“This event can serve as a networking opportunity where they get to meet other people and maybe they can form bands that aren’t just from one middle school” and “I want to do something to give back, when I started, I had help, I was Roberto Pulido’s son” and “I want to provide that same help down the road for other kids,” said Pulido.

Pulido says anyone can join if they are under 18-years of age and may join independently or in a band.

Mayor Pro Tem Dan Diaz says the event is different than others because it highlights the younger talent in the valley and says they are excited to be working with Bobby Pulido.

“There’s a lot of talent in those schools that for many years…there’s never been a venue to highlight that,” said Diaz.

Corafest will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on April 13 at the Promenade Park Amphitheatre.

Tickets are 10-dollars and children 10-years or younger enter free.
