Edinburg- Congressman Beto O’ Rourke visited the city of Edinburg for the second time after having recently debated Senator Ted Cruz for the first time.
Around 2,100 people attended the event to see O’ Rourke, who was introduced by State Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa.
“It was definitely very empowering, very exciting to see people our age in the crowd. And it’s important that we know our representatives and what they are going to act on, and if they are representing the things we care about,” said UTRGV student Joy Wouwakim.
Hundreds of supporters held up their phones to record his speech, where he mentioned reuniting undocumented children with their families is a top priority.
Before the November elections, he plans on returning to the Valley one more time where he will hold a CNN Town Hall.
Early voting for the November 6th election begins on October 22 and you may vote at any early voting location in your county of registration.
