BROWNVILLE – The UTRGV center for Mexican studies, college of fine arts, and public art office will hold a symposium featuring civil rights activist Dolores Huerta.
The event will be held on September 19 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the t-s-c performing arts center as a kick-off to Latinx heritage month. Featuring guest panels such as Lupe, Cosecha voices, and local activists.
Guests will reflect on the legacy of Dolores Huerta’s fight for social justice, the impact of their own work, and how she continues to inspire a new generation of social justice activists.
The symposium will conclude with Dolores Huerta herself, followed by a reception at the Brownsville museum of art where the bilingual Smithsonian exhibit “Dolores Huerta-revolution in the fields” is currently on display until October 1st.
