Edinburg- Basketball season kicked off during the first ever block party held before UTRGV Madness where students and families took part in celebrating with games, faceprinting, and food.
Students lined up and it was lights out before the men’s and women’s basketball teams were announced with individual player introductions.
UTRGV Madness attendees took part in a very competitive game of musical chairs, the Filipino Student Association defended their title for the student organization dance competition, and the men’s and women’s basketball teams went head to head during a three point shootout and slam dunk contest.
The first UTRGV basketball game will take place on November 6th against Texas A&M Commerce.
