Edinburg- What started off as a meaningless hand sign for a new organization…
“We were just messing around with our hands trying to think of other ways that we could form a V.”
Has quickly taken UTRGV by storm, as this powerful mark even reached President Bailey himself.
This student created the hand sign originally for the official student section called The Herd, but said he wants it to become the official hand sign for the university.
“I just want to help us distinguish ourselves from other universities that sets us apart. You know there is not a lot of other universities that have a two-handed hand sign essentially,” said Antonio Forina, the creator for The Herd V-sign.
We spoke to the the Director for Student Activities and she told us there is no exact process for making a hand sign official and there aren’t any plans to make just one of the hand signs official for the university.
